The Great Christmas Lights Tour: Presented By Lower Mountains Anglican
LIGHTS, STORIES & CLUES – FREE FAMILY FUN THIS CHRISTMAS!
The great Christmas Lights Tour is back, bigger and better for 2023. Take the family on a tour of some great Christmas lights around the Lower Mountains as you listen to the stories, follow the clues, and find the addresses of each display.
There are three tours, one each in Glenbrook, Blaxland, and Mt Riverview. Some of them are even walkable if preferred. It’s fun and free. All you need is a smartphone to connect to the tour.
WHEN: The tour goes live HERE from 7 PM Saturday 9 December and runs each night through until Christmas night.

See Santa arrive at the Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum aboard a Heritage Train from 10am – 1pm on the 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th December 2023.
Santa arrives under steam* from the ‘North Pole’ at 11:00 and 14:00 each day. Join Santa as he greets every girl and boy at his grotto in the Roundhouse for a chat and plenty of photo opportunities. Then enjoy all the Museum’s great experiences and activities. Free entry in the ‘Spot the Elf’ hunt!
Enjoy the rattle as you run up and down in the train or tram carriage, on the dedicated track for a 20 minute ride*, straight out of the 1890s! (*Subject to operational factors e.g. adverse weather, breakdown, crew/rolling stock unavailability).

Christmas Under the Stars 2023: Presented by City Church and Mountains Care
Come along for a night of celebrating Christmas Under the Stars! It will be a night of carols, performances, food and just a fun night out for everyone. There will also be a special visit from Santa on the night! For the little ones, there will also be a free petting zoo and free face painting.
This night is a family friendly event and will be a great opportunity to sit back, relax and sing along to your favourite Christmas tunes. There will be some food stalls available to purchase food on the night. Make sure you bring your own picnic blanket or chairs!

Gingerbread House Night: Hosted By The Salvation Army Faulconbridge
A fabulous night of gingerbread house making with lots of fun, sugar and live music provided by Springwood Salvation Army Band (bring your favourite Christmas Carols requests).
Gingerbread houses are available in regular, chocolate ginger, or gluten free; and they are egg, dairy, nut and palm oil free. Wear a Christmas shirt, bring family, friends, neighbours or work colleagues and have a great night building delicious houses together. Or come on your own and meet new people!

The Star of Bethlehem: Presented by Pheonix Blue Mountains Choir
Rheinberger’s The Star of Bethlehem tells the Christmas story, with the Angel Gabriel appearing to the Shepherds, and the Wise Men following the Star to offer their gifts to the newborn Child.
This is a Christmas Cantata in the German tradition with its luscious Romantic harmonies enhanced by Rowen Fox’s sensitive arrangement for wind ensemble. The choir also sings in Rowen’s contemporary English translation highlighting the familiar narrative for both the choir and the audience.
Musical director, Amy Moore, has again, gathered a selection of carols and other seasonal music to accompany the work and to fill us all with Christmas Spirit.

We have a bunch of local places to purchase your real Christmas tree in the Blue Mountains and some spots that are not too far away if you miss out on a local tree.

Carols in Your Backyard is a little slice of normal this Christmas. Gathering with friends and family on a picnic rug for Carols is such an ingrained part of Aussie culture.
Produced for video by Gymea Baptist Church, a community of faith with over twenty years of experience creating family-friendly Carols events, this free event is available all throughout December and is the perfect opportunity to invite friends, family, and neighbours to your backyard to enjoy a fantastic program of familiar songs and stories of Christmas!

Three Exciting Gingerbread House Decorating Events: Hosted By Clementine’s Cafe, Caddens
The Kids’ Gingerbread Events
Join us for a morning of sweet fun as we get into the spirit of Christmas and decorate gingerbread people, sensory play, craft and more.
The Gingerbread Kids events are designed for kids aged 2 – 6 (all kids are welcome however please keep in mind the activities are designed with children 2-6 in mind) Attending grown ups do not need to pay for their own ticket.
Friday Night Gingerbread Event
Bring a group of family or friends and create some sweet Christmas memories. Included in your ticket is an assembled house, royal icing, all the lollies you will need and packaging to take your creation home.
The house package can be shared with a group up to 4 people. The house and family package can be shared with a group up to 6 people and includes The house package and 6 gingerbread people.
