 bungarribee park

Bungarribee Park is Western Sydney’s largest parkland with over 60km of tracks and trails and 200 hectares of space to enjoy. Bungarribee Park’s architecturally designed modern playground really is impressive. Your children have a choice of a (very!) tall climbing tower, slides, flying fox, swings and water and sand play. Be prepared, they may not want to leave!

Bungarribee Park is a free, spacious and modern space for families to enjoy. It lends itself beautifully to large family and friend get-togethers, birthday parties and weekend and school holiday fun! There is so much space for children to play that even when the playground is busy, it does not feel too crowded.

Fantastic, solid shade structures have recently been installed over the water play, sand and slide areas so that even on a hot day, families might still enjoy the shaded part of the playground.

Bungaribee Park playground can get hot during the Summer though and seating for families is not well shaded. Choosing a cooler day might be more enjoyable than a scorching Summer’s Day.

A fairly large carpark is available next to the park (but it might be difficult finding a space on a busy day). You may like to pack bikes and scooters to explore the sealed tracks around Bungarribee Park. Bring a change of clothes too, as kids are likely to get sandy and wet.

Bungarribee Park Opening Hours

Pedestrians can access the park at any time, 24 hours / 7 days a week (although it is not fully lit up after hours). Gates open for vehicles at 8am every day. Closing times vary depending on the time of year. Western Sydney Parklands closes at 6pm but during Daylight Savings it closes at 8pm.

Accessibility For Children With A Disability

Unfortunately, the equipment at this park is not very accessible. Children with limited abilities may not be able to use much of the playground equipment. Even though there are around 8 different swings, not one is accessible. This is something so important that Councils need to keep in mind when designing playgrounds.

Other Local Ideas Around Bungarribee Park

Lizard Log

Lizard Log a natural playground that is a hidden gem in Western Sydney Parklands. The playground fits so perfectly in its bush setting that it is almost camouflaged with its surroundings! You may not even know there was a playground there!

The Warrigal Dog Run

The Warrigal Dog Run is around 2 hectares and is Sydney’s largest off the leash dog area. It is an enclosed space and has water stations for your dogs. It can get busy on weekends and sometimes in the evenings (especially with longer days in the warmer months).

If you would like to enjoy the surrounding 2.7km of walking tracks outside of the dog run, your dogs will need to stay on a leash.
