Elysian Rock Lookout Leura is a unique and lesser known view point in the upper Blue Mountains National Park with the most remarkable views. It is definitely worth a visit!

What To Expect At Elysian Rock Lookout Leura

Expect awesome views no matter the time of day. Elysian Rock Lookout is two lookouts connected by Buttenshaw Bridge. There is a seat on each lookout to enjoy the sunrise or sunset with a friend or loved one.

The advantage of this spot is that you are close to other beautiful lookouts and locations very close by as it is part of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk.

How To Find Elysian Rock Lookout Leura

elysian rock lookout leura view

Elysian Rock Lookout is not easy to find because it is not clearly sign posted, but it is part of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk. For quick access, you will find this stunning lookout across the road from the Leuralla NSW Toy and Railway Museum, which is located at 36 Olympian Parade, Leura.

To the left of their garden (with the large toy statues overlooking the view) you will find the start of the track.

When you see these characters, the track is directly to your left, along the white picket fence.

This is the start of the short 100 metre track to get to Elysian Rock Lookout.

Park on Olympian Parade, Leura, and walk about 100 metres along the rocky path (it is only a 200 metre return walk) and you will arrive at the first lookout.

Beautiful sandstone platform at the first lookout.

It is located on an unusually shaped sandstone platform, making Elysian Lookout particularly charming, but unfortunately not wheelchair friendly.

Relax on the wooden seat and enjoy outstanding views.

Continue along Buttonshaw Bridge, which hosts even more views to behold, then relish the sights of the second lookout at Elysian Rock.

Take care with children at Elysian Rock Lookout, as the sandstone ground is uneven and the fences are not high, but the cliff edges are! Hold their hands at all times.

Other Places To Visit Near Elysian Rock Lookout

Elysian Rock Lookout is part of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk. You may also access Elysian Rock Lookout from Gordon Falls Lookout. Then head over to Olympian Rock Lookout. These three lookouts are located only a very short walk from each other. When you are in the area make sure you head down to the lovely Pool of Siloam.

Other beautiful spots they we highly recommend that you visit in the area include Sublime Point Leura, Lincoln’s Rock Wentworth Falls and Valley of the Waters Empress Falls Track, also in Wentworth Falls.
