Douglas Smith Memorial Park Glenbrook is a little park in the lower Blue Mountains is tucked away in leafy Glenbrook. Also known as ‘The Goat Park’ this playground is not new and shiny, but what it lacks in gloss, it makes up for in charm.

What To Expect At Douglas Smith Memorial Park And Playground

Some time ago, the neighbouring property up the back of the park owned two very friendly (and hungry!) goats who loved greeting visitors at their back fence. At our last visit, however, the goats were not to be seen.

There is plenty for children to do and see at ‘The Goat Park’. There are a couple of park benches, heaps of space for children to run, fun play equipment, including two slides and a flying fox and majestic gum trees (it is probably best not to visit on a windy day).

Your children may love train spotting from this park and playground too. The challenge is if they can count the number of coal train carriages as it passes through Glenbrook train station.

Douglas Smith Memorial Park Glenbrook is a lovely location for a birthday party on a sunny day. However, there are no toilet facilities, so please ensure your children have been before they arrive.

Recently, we noticed a lot of graffiti on the playground equipment too. Blue Mountains City Council are also due to restore some of the equipment (including the flying fox) as it is getting a little decrepit.
