The Playground

Wilson Park Wentworth Falls has updated its swings. It now has five swings, including an accessible swing, round rope swing and a baby/toddler swing. It also has three slides of different sizes, a variety of climbing ladders, monkey bars, fireman’s pole, rocking horse and a small crawling tunnel. The park and playground are wrapped around with a great path that is perfect for kids to scoot around and practise their bike riding skills.

Charles Darwin Walk

From Wilson Park Wentworth Falls you will easily access this famous 2km walk down to Jamison Valley. This family-friendly bushwalk connects Wentworth Falls village with Blue Mountains National Park. Enjoy waterfalls and birdwatching as you follow Jamison Creek along this track. It was closed at the time of writing in January 2021 but you can check updates here.

Plenty of space

The trees

An Easy Walk to Wentworth Falls Village and Train Station

It is only about 500 metres from Wentworth Falls Train Station to Wilson Park, making it an easy stop for families if they would love a day out by train. Exit the station on the western side, at Station Street and turn left to pass the shops and walk down to the Great Western Highway. Cross the highway at the lights and turn right, heading down the hill along the footpath. This walk then turns left into Wilson Park. If you are looking for the Charles Darwin walk, walk through the playground until you see the large archway for the entrance to this well-known family-friendly bushwalk.

The Climate

Wilson Park Wentworth Falls is a wonderful spot to visit on a Summer’s Day as it is more temperate than the lower Blue Mountains.

Because Wentworth Falls is a few degrees cooler, remember to bring a jacket and other warm clothes for your children, just in case!

Wilson Park Wentworth Falls is definitely a park and playground for families to discover. If you are after a spot that is easy to access by train and without the crowds of more well-known parks, then be sure to check Wilson Park out. The playground, the Charles Darwin Walk and the beautiful natural setting of this area are ideal for children to play, explore, meet new friends and experience the Blue Mountains in a wonderful way.
