Stay local and visit one of the Blue Mountains swimming centres. The great thing is that they are all different, with a variety of facilities for all ages to enjoy.

springwood aquatic and leisure opening hours

These holidays we visited Springwood Aquatic and Leisure Centre. It’s perfect on a rainy or hot day, as it is all indoors! Stay sun safe on those sunny days and enjoy swimming even on the rainiest of days at Springwood’s indoor pool.

WHY WE LOVE SPRINGWOOD AQUATIC CENTRE

FUN FEATURES

Young children will enjoy riding in the big red car with a watery windscreen, froggy water spouts, tipping buckets, water guns, high-pressure hose spray (that’s what I’m calling it anyway!), whirlpool and of course the slide!

WATERSLIDE

This is a long water slide and great fun! It costs an extra $3.50 on top of each person’s entry fee to use the waterslide (although supervising adults taking very young children down the slide don’t need to pay).

The water at the end of the slide is 1.2m deep so non-swimmers will need an adult to take them down or catch them at the end. You are not allowed to wear floaties on the slide.

The wait time can be a little long so keep an eye on the queue for when it is a bit shorter. For example, if there are 12 people in front of you it takes around 8 – 9 minutes to get to the front of the line.

The water slide is open on weekends and during school holidays from 11am – 1pm.

HEATED POOLS

There are three swimming pools to enjoy! The more shallow kid’s activity pool is nice and warm but the medium learn to swim pool is even warmer! The large Olympic sized pool is a little chilly.

FREE ENTRY FOR UNDER 5’S

One child aged 5 years and under is free of charge with each paying adult. Under 3’s are also free!

ACTIVE KIDS CARE

Parents, this is great. You can get fit with one of Springwood Leisure Centre’s group fitness classes while your little ones kick about in creche! Crèche at Springwood will reopen Thursday, January 28, 2021. Pop the date in your calendar. Supervised play is only $3.70 per child per session.
