Memorial Park Blackheath is one of the most historic parks in the Blue Mountains. Also known by locals as the ‘Red Rocket Ship Park’, this playground in Blackheath is definitely worth visiting. The red rocket was originally installed in 1962 and recently renovated.

What To Expect At Memorial Park Blackheath

Memorial Park Blackheath has plenty of space, including three different playground areas to suit all age groups. There is a range of wonderful play equipment, including a flying fox and swings, a duck pond, swimming pool (built during the 1930’s), sheltered BBQs and an abundance of grassed areas for picnics and spontaneous games of soccer or frisbee!

Plan a birthday party (be sure to book here) or stop by on your drive through the Blue Mountains. Memorial Park has gorgeous deciduous trees in Autumn and snow play in Winter, if you’re lucky!

Tips For Visiting Memorial Park Blackheath

Take the kids to the toilet before you arrive (the toilets are a bit of a walk). Grab a take away coffee on the way too as there is no cafe at the park. There is also a track head for nearby bushwalks at Memorial Park.
