headspace Katoomba is linked with headspace Penrith to provide accessible youth mental health services for the local community.

Many traditional services aren’t equipped to address the unique barriers that young people face in accessing mental health support. headspace began in 2006 to address this critical gap, by providing tailored and holistic mental health support to 12 – 25-year-olds.

With a focus on early intervention, headspace work with young people to provide support at a crucial time in their lives – to help get them back on track and strengthen their ability to manage their mental health in the future.

At the heart of headspace’s services is ensuring they meet the evolving and unique needs of young people and those who support them. Therefore, young people are at the centre of everything they do and they play an active role in designing, developing and evaluating our programs.

What is a headspace Centre Like?

What does headspace Katoomba offer?

headspace Katoomba offers young people aged 12-25 a welcoming environment where they can access free and confidential mental health support, health advice, and general information. headspace can help with mental health, general health, alcohol and other drug services as well as work support.

Young people aged 12 – 25 do not require a formal referral. Simply phone, email or show up in person to arrange an appointment with one of our staff during business hours. headspace Katoomba services are available at no cost.

How is headspace Katoomba funded?

headspace Katoomba is linked to headspace Penrith and operated by Parramatta Mission. All headspace services are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Administration of funding is carried out by the headspace centre’s local Primary Health Network, in this case, Nepean Blue Mountains.
