About Sensory Garden Playgroup Blue Mountains

Are you ready for an amazing adventure? Picture a safe haven where kids can dive into their curiosity and awaken their senses while you join in the fun right beside them.

Welcome to Sensory Garden – an outdoor playgroup nestled in the stunning Blue Mountains, specifically designed for kids aged 6 months to 5 years! We’re all about letting loose, getting a bit messy, and embracing child-led play.

Our mission? To provide your little ones with a sensory boost for their growing minds and plenty of sunshine for their bodies. After a session with us, your bub might just be ready for a good nap or a night of peaceful sleep. Who wouldn’t want that?

What’s in store at Sensory Garden?

Prepare for sessions packed with excitement! We’re located in Lawson, in a secured outdoor playground with locked gates for your child’s safety.

Parking is a breeze, and bringing prams along is hassle-free. Every session is full of sensory joy!

From messy trays (suitable for even 6-month-old adventurers!) to a mud kitchen, potions table, playdough (yes, it’s safe to taste!), painting, bubbles, a sandpit filled with trucks and buckets, and even a charming cubby house – boredom is not on our agenda.

When can you join the fun?

Sensory Garden is back from the winter break and our first session is scheduled for 17th September! You can find us in Lawson every Tuesday during school term 10am – 11am.

We also run school holiday sessions and our schedule varies then. Make sure to follow us on Facebook for most up to date information!

Psst! Remember, spots are limited for each weekly session, so booking ahead is required.

We offer casual attendance or session packages with fabulous discounts. For

What should you bring?

Expect your little ones to dive into sensory play with water, slime, and more. Dress them accordingly and bring a change of clothes to avoid sticky situations! Wet wipes, a fresh nappy, a small towel, and a wet bag for dirty clothing are your best pals.

Let me share my story with you…
It all began on a day in June 2021 during a brunch with my husband. Ready to pop with a baby due any moment, we got hit with a lockdown announcement. Little did we know that very night, I’d go into labour at 6 pm!

Raising a baby during a 5-month lockdown was no joke. Sleepless nights,
breastfeeding struggles, and isolation tested me. That’s when I stumbled upon messy/sensory play – a lifeline! It made those tough times feel more human, connecting me with other moms and letting me cherish moments with my baby.

Sensory Garden is my vision of a village – a space for all mothers to come together, share stories, and bask in the sun with our little ones. We talk, we listen, and we make beautiful memories.

Our 10mo daughter Frankie absolutely loves sensory play. She gets to explore colours, textures, movement, shape and interactions between different play items. Absolutely love “messy play” as it’s called at our house. My 2.5 year old looks forward to sensory play all week. Emma is fantastic at setting up beautiful and thoughtful play spaces which she often tailors to meet specific childrens interest.
