About Sensory Garden Playgroup

sensory garden playgroup lawson

Did you love Mountains Kids Sensory Playgroup? We did too! So we decided to continue Emma’s legacy with a bit of our own flare.

Sensory Garden is an outdoor parent-supervised playgroup for your little bub. We love messy hands and feet and are all about child-led play! Our main goal is to provide sensory nourishment for their brains and outdoor time for their bodies! We strive to tire your bub out. Who doesn’t like a bit of a quiet time during naps or sleeping through the night after an exciting day?!

Sensory Garden is now located in Lawson and our play sessions take place in a fully secure outdoor playground of the Central Villages Anglican Church (view map).

Term 2 Sessions

In Term 2 we are offering four weekly sessions:

  • Tuesday 10AM – 11AM

  • Wednesday 10AM – 11AM

  • Friday 10AM – 11AM

  • Friday 3.30PM – 4.30PM

Each weekly session has a limited number of spaces.

How much does it cost?

We are hosting four play sessions a week during school terms. We are offering casual attendance at our sessions and term bulk bookings. Our term bulk bookings carry a very generously discounted price, with an additional early bird and sibling discount!

Our term bookings are $150 for 10 school term sessions. We offer a $10 early bird discount which is available from 24th March 2023 12pm (midday) till 30th March 12pm (midday). You can redeem your discount by using a voucher code SGEARLYBIRD.

Casual passes are $17 and are available for this price only.

What can you expect at Sensory Garden Playgroup Lawson?

A little bit of old and a little bit of new! We kept your favourite messy tuff trays full of rice, pasta, couscous and chia. Your bub can also enjoy a play in a sandpit or pour water in our outdoor kitchen. We have also added a cubby house and a quiet corner, where your bub can dial down or feed and you can just relax for a bit before jumping right back in!

What to bring

We strive to provide a very messy environment for your bub! They might be playing with water, slime, sticky pasta and rice. We also use limited amounts of food colouring in our trays that can stain your child’s clothing. Keep that in mind when you are dressing them for the Sensory Garden session and bring a change of clothing, so you don’t have to dig sticky pasta and rice out of their carseat! We will provide a change table and wipes on the premises, so you don’t need to change your bub in the car, if you do not wish to.

If seeing messy clothing makes your heart skip a beat, we highly recommend art smocks or overalls for your little one! Whatever makes you and them comfortable.

A suggested list of what to bring:

  • Wet wipes

  • Change of clothing

  • Fresh nappy

  • Small towel

  • Wet bag/plastic bag for dirty clothing

  • Art smocks/overalls (if using)

Meet your host, Ksenia!

sensory garden playgroup the host ksenia and her baby daughter

Hi, welcome! My name is Ksenia (and it is okay if you don’t know how to pronounce it!).  I run Sensory Garden Playgroup.

My daughter started off as a terrible sleeper. She didn’t want to go down for naps, was waking up frequently in the night and our entire household was delirious from the lack of sleep while also being in lockdown. It was a very hard time! Luckily, when Grace was 4 months old, I came across Milk & Moon.

The main idea is to fill your child’s sensory tank while they are awake, so they fall asleep quickly and sleep more soundly. I can honestly say this approach changed our lives! That’s why I decided to start this sensory playgroup – to give other parents an opportunity to tire their kids out and hopefully improve sleep quality for the entire household!

I look forward to welcoming you into our space. Let’s tune into our senses and be in a playful connection together!

Please be in touch if you have any questions. You can find out more about all of the Sensory Garden on our website.

Our 10mo daughter Frankie absolutely loves sensory play. She gets to explore colours, textures, movement, shape and interactions between different play items. This has been incredible for her development and motor skills! We love attending as parents, immersing ourselves in the joy of our daughter and the fun sensory play elements. And best of all, once we clean and change Frankie, the mess stays behind! Can absolutely recommend sensory play to anyone with littles. Emma is an absolutely gorgeous person and so professional, kind and warm!

Absolutely love “messy play” as it’s called at our house. My 2.5 year old looks forward to sensory play all week. Emma is fantastic at setting up beautiful and thoughtful play spaces which she often tailors to meet specific childrens interest.

My kids absolutely love the sensory play sessions, so much so that we hired Emma to set one up at their birthday party. It was such a hit with all of our little guests and the parents were all involved and enjoying it too! It’s so much more then just getting messy, highly recommended you give it a go!

I would 100% recommend Mountain Kids Sensory Play for anyone wanting their children to explore in safe mindful messy play without the clean up. My two little ones have so much fun and it’s something we all look forward to on Fridays.
